Ormston (1966-68)


Jim, due to the contract with Baldwin, was unable to use the Burns name for several years. Instead, he used his middle name, Ormston. In 1966, he agreed to market the Denley Pedal-Steel guitars under the tradename of Ormston Steel Guitars.

After Burns was sold to Baldwin, Jim could not use the Burns name. Thus, he adopted his second name, Ormston, for his new projects. Instead of a new range, though, this became a prototype for the Hayman range. This was probably the only specimen made.
