Jim Burns Ltd (1979 - 1983)
In 1979, Jim Burns made yet another attempt at a come-back. He was persuaded by his friends, and the person said to have played the most important part in getting Jim Burns back in business was Tony Gipp. With fresh inspiration, Jim Burns would develop quite a few innovative guitars. None of these were received with the enthusiasm hoped for, however, and in 1983, when the last guitar, Bandit, was released, Jim Burns had already left the company.

One example:
Black Scorpion Prototype /78
A unique and cool guitar, hand crafted by Jim. The serially produced version looked a bit different. Used by, among others, Blondie. Note the ball bearings on the head and phase switcher. The new humbucking pick-ups were introduced with this guitar. 1980-81. The serially produced version was also available as bass.
